PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Narcotics (drugs) as defined by the International Narcotics Control Board and other illicit drugs as defined by the country of destination
- Psychotropic substances under international controlÂ
- Obscene or immoral communication and articles, including pornographic materialÂ
- Human remainsÂ
- Firearms and ammunitionÂ
- Counterfeit and pirated goods,
- Coins
- Bank notes
- Precious stones, gold, silver, platinum (whether manufactured or not)
- Explosives
- Gases
- Flammable liquids
- Flammable solids;substances liable to spontaneous combustionÂ
- Oxidizing substances and organic peroxidesÂ
- Toxic and infectious substances
- Corrosives
- Radioactive material
- Live animals
- Items sent in furtherance of a fraudulent act or with the intention of avoiding full payment of appropriate charges
- Articles which by nature or their packaging may expose officials or the general public to danger, soil or damage other itemsÂ
- Insertion of correspondence in parcelsÂ
- Printed matter and items for the blind shall not bear any inscription or contain any item of correspondence
- Other articles the importation or circulation of which is prohibited in the country of destination
- Dangerous goods
Articles or substances capable of posing risk to health, safety, property or the environment are classified as dangerous goods. Many everyday items such as lithium batteries, cleaning fluids and perfumes are classified as dangerous goods and are forbidden in the mail, except those specifically referred to in the regulations to be admitted under specialized conditions  certified by relevant authorities.
